I started powerlfiting about 5 years ago.....from day 1 it has always been WEST SIDE!!!
WEST SIDE FOR LIFE!!!! anyways, i have tried the Metal Militia stuff and the progressive overload stuff but i never got anywhere with any of them.....WEST SIDE works....best total so far was something like 1774 in Idaho Falls @ the AAPF/APF meet. Starting this weekend it'll be bench on saturdays @ 7:30 am, DE squat/deadlift on sundays with Scott Mecham and anyone else who wants to get up and workout at 7:30 in the mornings, tuesdays will be my other bench day and wednesdays will be ME squat/deadlift/GM day.....
4. What kind of workout did you do when you first got into lifting and how old were you?
Like i stated above....WEST SIDE from day 1....I was 22 years old....before that i did the typical bodybuilding garbage....of corse that got me no where with strength....I don't think it got me anywhere with the physical appearance part of it either.

WEST SIDE!!!!

7. What powerlifting equipment would you like to try?
As soon as I get my INZER Canvas I will be trying it.
8. What is the best advice anyone has ever given you about lifting?
Don't fear the weight.....
9. What is the worst advice you’ve ever been given?
You need to do progressive overload....Western Periodization bull shit!!!!
10. What is the worst injury you’ve had and what did you do to overcome it?
I have NEVER been injured because of his sport....I believe in listening to my body and if it's telling me to let off a little I will let off a little and I WILL NEVER get injured....hopefully.
11. What is the worst sticking point (on any on the lifts) that you had to overcome and what did you do to correct it?
I hate benching....so I see benching as a HUGE sticking point....but if I am going to get my 2000 total I need a somewhat decent bench....so i will start to train with Carl Rogers, Scott Mecham, and gang (WJB) to up the bench....
12. What exercises do you believe have increased your bench, squat and deadlift?
Bench---I don't know
Squat—GM's, box squats & reverse hypers
Deadlift---rack pulls, reverse band pulls and speed pulls
13. What does your diet consist of?
Lots & lots & lots of protein......I eat some what decent.....I guess it could be better...

Elite Fitness (elitefts.com), home of the West Side guys....lots of valuable info there....and of course Scott Mecham
16. What changes would you like to see in powerlifting?
Dump all the other feds.....keep AAPF for drug tested and APF for non-drug tested...very simple....and if you want to go raw....then maybe AAU or something like that....thats it.
If you're a “powerlifter” then you do 3 lifts...not one or two...all 3.
17. If you’ve ever had to cut weight for a powerlifting contest, what did you do?
Got in the sauna....ran and started puking.......never again!!!!
